Legendary India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has revealed that multiple IPL teams ignored his advice to sign Tim David before the mega auction. He explained that he had personally told decision-makers to keep a close watch on the Australian power-hitter. However, they declined, claiming his form had dropped drastically.
David was released by Mumbai Indians ahead of the auction, and consequently, he went under the hammer without much attention. While Sunrisers Hyderabad initiated the bidding, they pulled out early. As a result, Royal Challengers Bengaluru seized the opportunity and signed him for just INR 3 crore — a price Ashwin described as a “steal deal.”
