Bhuvneshwar Kumar Puts on Swing Bowling Masterclass in UP T20 League

Swing king Bhuvneshwar Kumar reminded fans of his class in the UP T20 League 2025. Playing for Lucknow Falcons against Gaur Gorakhpur Lions on August 22 at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium, the seamer showcased vintage swing bowling that troubled the opposition batters.

The former India pacer bowled a terrific opening spell. He consistently tested opener Aryan Juyal with outswing and nearly picked up his wicket. His ability to move the ball both ways made scoring extremely difficult. From his four overs, Bhuvneshwar conceded only 16 runs, giving away just one boundary.

Despite his brilliance, the Falcons could not defend a 182-run target. Twenty-two-year-old Siddharth Yadav produced a match-winning knock for the Lions. Yadav smashed an unbeaten 88 off just 45 balls, targeting the spinners in particular.

Needing 22 runs in the final over, Yadav finished the chase in style. He hammered three sixes and a four to seal a stunning win for the Lions.

Bhuvneshwar Not in India Contention

Even after his strong IPL 2025 season with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, where he took 17 wickets, Bhuvneshwar Kumar remains out of India’s white-ball setup.

The pacer last represented India in ODIs in 2022 against South Africa at Paarl. His final T20I came in 2018, also against South Africa at Johannesburg.

Currently, India’s T20I fast bowling attack features Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Hardik Pandya, and Harshit Rana, who have been picked for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025.
