Ravindra Jadeja Overtakes MS Dhoni in Test Sixes During India vs West Indies

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja added another milestone to his career by going past MS Dhoni to become India’s fourth-highest six-hitter in Test cricket during the first Test against West Indies in Ahmedabad.

On the second day, Jadeja remained unbeaten on 50 off 81 deliveries, striking three fours and four sixes, all of them against Jomel Warrican. With these blows, his career six count rose to 79 from 86 Tests, pushing him ahead of Dhoni’s record of 78 sixes in 90 Tests.

Only Rohit Sharma (88), Virender Sehwag (90), and Rishabh Pant (90) now sit above him in the list. This innings was also Jadeja’s seventh 50-plus score in 2025, the most by any batter this year. Across seven Tests and 13 innings, he has amassed 605 runs at an impressive average of 75.62, which includes a century and six fifties.

The pair continued to attack Warrican and Roston Chase, reaching the 250-run mark in 74.3 overs. Jadeja frequently advanced down the track to dispatch deliveries over the ropes, while Jurel played with control and precision.

India’s lead moved past 100 runs in the 76th over, and the partnership reached 50 runs off just 77 balls. Jurel brought up his second Test fifty in 91 balls, while Jadeja completed his 28th half-century in 75 deliveries. Together, they added 100 runs in 151 balls without losing a wicket.
