BCCI Files Complaint Against Haris Rauf and Farhan

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has lodged an official complaint against Pakistan cricketers Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan for their provocative on-field gestures during the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four match against India. The complaint includes video evidence demanding strict action from match referee Andy Pycroft.

According to reports, Rauf made multiple gestures in response to the ‘Kohli, Kohli’ chants from the crowd, including mimicking a fighter jet and displaying ‘6-0’, referencing false claims from Operation Sindoor. Farhan also caused controversy with a gun-firing celebration after scoring a fifty.

BCCI Demands Strict Action

The BCCI described these actions as against the spirit of cricket and called for immediate disciplinary measures. They emphasized that the gestures were intentional and not isolated incidents, with Rauf clashing with Indian batters Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill during their partnership.

Pakistan, however, avoided commenting on the gestures. Fast bowler Shaheen Afridi said ahead of Pakistan’s match against Bangladesh, “Our job is to play cricket; people can think what they want. We are here to win the Asia Cup and trying our best to fulfill Pakistan’s hopes.”

The ICC and match referee Andy Pycroft are expected to review the complaint and take appropriate action.
