DPL 2025: Outer Delhi Warriors stun North Delhi Strikers with 7-wicket win

The Outer Delhi Warriors showcased dominance with bat and ball as they outplayed North Delhi Strikers by seven wickets in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The result handed the Warriors two valuable points in their campaign.

Early setback but quick recovery

Chasing 194 for victory, the Warriors had a shaky start when Sanat Sangwan was dismissed by Harshit Rana for zero. The dismissal, however, brought Priyansh Arya and Rishabh Drall together, and the pair launched a fierce counterattack. Their 67-run partnership quickly shifted pressure back on the Strikers.

Drall played a steady hand with 38 runs from 25 balls before his departure. Arya, on the other hand, turned the contest on its head with a whirlwind 76 off just 30 deliveries. His fearless strokeplay left the opposition bowlers rattled and made the chase far less demanding.

Calm finish from Dabas and Dhruv

After Arya’s dismissal, the task was completed by Keshav Dabas and Dhruv Singh. Dabas anchored the chase with an unbeaten 46 off 35 balls, while Dhruv’s quickfire 26 off 17 balls ensured the Warriors crossed the line comfortably in the 18th over.

Strikers’ batting effort

Put in to bat, North Delhi Strikers recovered from early stumbles thanks to Vaibhav Kandpal’s fluent 73 off 40 deliveries. He found support from Arjun Rapria, who added 33 off 19 balls, while Gagan Vats provided a late blitz with 18 off 4. Despite posting 193/6, the total proved short against the Warriors’ heavy batting display.

Captain Sharma delivers with the ball

Outer Delhi Warriors’ skipper Siddhant Sharma played a crucial role with the ball, picking 3 wickets for 24 runs. His breakthroughs came at vital stages, preventing the Strikers from touching the 200-run mark.

Brief Scores:

North Delhi Strikers: 193/6 in 20 overs (Vaibhav Kandpal 73, Arjun Rapria 33; Siddhant Sharma 3/24)
Outer Delhi Warriors: 194/3 in 18 overs (Priyansh Arya 76, Keshav Dabas 46*; Arjun Rapria 1/23)
