Key players include KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sai Sudharsan, Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel, Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, N Jagadeesan, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Kuldeep Yadav. Karun Nair was omitted, while Rishabh Pant misses out due to a foot injury.

Prasidh Krishna, despite suffering a head injury during India A’s second match against Australia A, has been included in the squad, reflecting the selectors’ confidence in his recovery. Shubman Gill and other players will join the Test squad shortly after India’s Asia Cup final on September 28, giving them limited rest before the first Test.
The decision to go with a strong lineup underscores India’s aim to stay competitive in the World Test Championship while balancing player workloads following the T20 campaign. With Jasprit Bumrah included, India also ensures its pace attack remains potent against the West Indies.
