The much-anticipated Asia Cup 2025 match between India and Pakistan is just a week away, yet the tickets are still not sold out, according to a report by Times of India. This has come as a surprise to many, given the immense excitement surrounding the match. India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series in over a decade, with their encounters typically limited to tournaments organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) or the International Cricket Council (ICC).
With the match scheduled for September 14, many expected the tickets to sell out quickly. However, some tickets are still available, with prices for certain categories reaching as high as Rs 2.5 lakh for two seats.
High Prices and Package Deals Impact Ticket Sales
While matches like India vs Pakistan usually see tickets sell out in a matter of hours, the report claims that the combination of sky-high prices and packaged sales has affected demand. For example, a pair of VIP Suite East tickets is listed for Rs 2.5 lakh. This price includes aisle seating, unlimited food and drinks, a parking pass, access to a VIP club/lounge, and private entrance and restrooms.
Other premium tickets, such as those for the Royal Box and Sky Box, are priced at Rs 2.3 lakh and Rs 1.6 lakh, respectively. Even the Platinum-level tickets are being sold for Rs 75,659. For fans looking for more affordable options, tickets start at around Rs 10,000 for two seats.
This pricing strategy has led to a slower-than-expected ticket sales process, despite the historic nature of the rivalry between India and Pakistan.
