The Netherlands announce a 15-member squad for the Bangladesh T20I series 2025 starting August 30 in Sylhet. The series boosts Dutch preparation for next year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka. Scott Edwards captains a group that mirrors their regional triumph earlier this year.
Selectors retain the core that topped the Europe Regional Final standings. They also confirm the unavailability of Bas de Leede and Roelof van der Merwe for this tour. Vikramjit Singh, Shariz Ahmad, Ben Fletcher, Fred Klaassen, and Tim Pringle return to the T20I setup.
“Vikramjit, Klaassen and Pringle were part of the Netherlands squad that featured at the most recent edition of the T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies last year and get another chance to show their capabilities, while leg-spinner Shariz and left-arm seamer Fletcher are also likely to be provided further opportunities,” the ICC reported.
Why these recalls matter
Vikramjit strengthens the top order with intent in the powerplay. Klaassen adds left-arm variety and death-overs skills. Pringle’s left-arm spin complements Aryan Dutt’s off-spin, offering match-ups against Bangladesh’s right-handers. The setup preserves bowling balance with pace options Paul van Meekeren, Ryan Klein, and Fred Klaassen.
Captaincy and batting core
Edwards continues as wicketkeeper-captain, supported by the experience of Max O’Dowd and Teja Nidamanuru. The Dutch bank on fielding standards and power-hitting depth to challenge Bangladesh at home.
Schedule at a glance
All three T20Is will be played in Sylhet on August 30, September 1, and September 3. Start times are listed on major fixtures portals, with the opener at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
