Jayden Seales’ brilliant four-wicket haul and Amir Jangoo’s unbeaten half-century powered Antigua and Barbuda Falcons to a six-wicket victory over Guyana Amazon Warriors in the CPL 2025. With the win, Falcons confirmed their place in the playoffs, moving to 11 points from ten matches.
Seales Rattles Warriors’ Top Order
Falcons chose to bowl first and Seales made an immediate impact. The pacer ripped through the top order with raw pace. He dismissed Moeen Ali in the fourth over and followed it up with key wickets of Ben McDermott and Shimron Hetmyer in the final over of the powerplay. Warriors crumbled to 26 for 3.
Shai Hope offered brief resistance with a quick 14-ball 26, striking three fours and a six. However, Usama Mir turned the tide in the ninth over. He bowled Hope and was involved in Hassan Khan’s run-out at the non-striker’s end. The collapse continued as Warriors folded for 99 in 18.2 overs. Seales returned 4 for 15, while Mir claimed 3 for 17.
Jangoo Anchors Chase Despite Early Setbacks
Chasing 100, Falcons lost early wickets. Andries Gous, Kevin Wickham, Karima Gore, and Shakib Al Hasan all fell inside the powerplay, giving Warriors hope of a comeback. But Amir Jangoo stood firm. His unbeaten 51 off 57 balls, featuring three fours and two sixes, guided the chase calmly.
Despite tight spells from Moeen Ali (2 for 10) and Imran Tahir (2 for 27), Jangoo’s composure saw Falcons home with four balls to spare.
Playoff Picture Heats Up
The win made Falcons the third team to qualify for the CPL 2025 playoffs, joining St Lucia Kings and Trinbago Knight Riders. The battle for the final playoff spot remains open. Guyana Amazon Warriors, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, and Barbados Royals are still mathematically in contention.
If Warriors beat table-toppers Kings on Saturday, they will clinch the last playoff berth, leaving Patriots and Royals out of the race.
