The Bangladesh legend claimed his 500th T20 wicket during a miserly spell that powered the Falcons to a 7-wicket win. With this victory, the Falcons remained at the top of the CPL 2025 points table.
The Patriots managed just 133/9 in 20 overs. Their batting faltered despite Evin Lewis’ 32 and Mohammad Rizwan’s 30. Shakib bowled a brilliant spell of 3 for 11 in two overs, making the crucial difference. His 500th wicket came when Rizwan tried to attack but fell in the same over.

Gore Guides Falcons to Victory
In reply, Rahkeem Cornwall gave the Falcons a flying start, smashing three boundaries off Naseem Shah. Jewel Andrew added momentum with a run-a-ball 28 before falling to Waqar Salamkheil. Shakib added two sixes and a four before being stumped off Bidaisee.
Karima Gore anchored the chase with a brilliant unbeaten 52. His crucial partnerships ensured the Falcons never lost control. Patriots’ poor fielding, including dropped catches of Gore and Andries Gous, proved costly. Gore sealed the win by hitting a boundary to complete his fifty and take the Falcons home in 19.4 overs.
