That is all from this game. The action continues in the MLC as we have two games lined up for you. On the 5th of July, San Francisco Unicorns will take on Texas Super Kings while Washington Freedom will face Seattle Orcas. The action begins at 7 pm GMT (the previous day) but as usual, you can join us earlier for the build up. Till then, cheers!
Nicholas Pooran, the captain of MI New York says the conditions suited them, particularly Trent Boult, whose wickets initially helped them. Shares they want to use the conditions better than the opposition and they did that today. Feels the partnership was really important. The left-right combination helped, as it's difficult to bowl and Monank Patel has been in good nick as well.
Trent Boult wins the PLAYER OF THE MATCH AWARD. He says he has a clear role and that is to take wickets, he just tried to make the most of the conditions and kept it simple. Tells he has Plan B and Plan C as well but his experience in reading the conditions helps him. Mentions practice helps a lot in swinging the ball.
...Presentation...
Jason Holder, the skipper of Los Angeles Knight Riders says the toss was very crucial as it was tacky up front with the new ball doing a bit. Tells Andre Russell did a good job in the last game with the bat, they tried to push him up the order and he played well but the ball kept just low to hit the stumps. Mentions they have let themselves down in the field, they haven't seized the moments which could have helped them win the game so far this season.
In the second innings, Los Angeles Knight Riders needed a big Powerplay to go their way. Sunil Narine turned up the heat by bowling a brilliant first over but Los Angeles Knight Riders let themselves down in the field. They created numerous chances but failed to seize them with both hands. Even Nicholas Pooran edged one fresh in his innings but no one appealed for it. Los Angeles Knight Riders were nowhere near their standards on the field and it has cost them crucial points.
MI New York did the job with the ball after winning the toss. The surface was good to bat however, MINY's thunderbolt, Trent Boult, scalped three huge wickets and shook the LAKR's batting order inside the Powerplay. Sherfane Rutherford held fort from one end but MI New York chipped in with wickets regularly, disallowing any partnerships to flourish and eventually stranding Los Angeles Knight Riders to a below par total.
A comfortable win for MI New York and they keep their hopes alive for the crucial fourth spot for the next round. For Los Angeles Knight Riders, it's their fourth loss on the trot and with two games to go, the qualifying chances for the next round look very uncertain.

SIX! Kieron Pollard joins the party! Short in length and around off, Kieron Pollard smokes it over mid-wicket for a biggie. Too easy for someone like Kieron Pollard with that stature.
