Right. That ends another close game. London Spirit Women go back home, where they host Trent Rockets Women at Lord's on Thursday, 14th August, 2025. Manchester Originals Women, on the other hand, have a quick one coming up next, in Cardiff, on Wednesday, 13th August, 2025, against Welsh Fire Women. Both these teams are facing opponents which are yet to get off the mark but given the traffic jam that is being created from positions 2 to 5, the Originals will want to get their second win soon. That's all we have from this match but don't go anywhere as the Men's gear up for their clash at this same ground. The toss has already been done with Manchester Originals electing to bat, learning from how the Women's game went. Do hop in to that matchcentre. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
London Spirit Women's GRACE HARRIS HAS BEEN ADJUDGED THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH for her unbeaten 50 (32) with the bat. Harris says that the wicket was a little bit trickier to start on. Adds that once you kind of got in, you could play your shots. Analyzes that's what Deandra Dottin did in her knock and Harris tried the same. Cheekily admits that she just felt that she (Harris) was a bit lazy between the wickets but this feels good. On when to go on the attack, Grace says that the scoreboard dictates how you want to play. Adds that you have got to be in touch with the runs needed. Explains that in this case, with 25-odd needed, the batters decided to go for the shots, with wickets in hand. On losing 2 wickets in 2 balls in the 19th set, GH admits that it was pure panic. Adds that she was just hoping - someone just take a single and give her the strike. But credits Kathryn Bryce for bowling well. Further states that had Manchester scored a few more runs, it would have been a tougher chase. On winning 3 games in 3 outings, Grace Harris says that if you just keep enjoying your cricket - as in, she details that the players are gelling quite well off the field - it kind of reflects in your performance. On her own form, Harris says that she is delighted with how she is going at the moment. Details that the principles that she has been working on have been paying off. Thanks Charlie Dean for giving her bowling as when she got the ball, she felt a bit more involved, as sometimes, she feels a bit off on the field. Quickly adds that she is working on it as well. Ends by saying that it feels nice to contribute with both bat and ball.
Earlier in the game, Manchester Originals Women were asked to bat first and they struggled, not able to adjust to the slow pitch. Deandra Dottin's late burst, making 36, took them to 122, which almost proved to be defendable, except for those dropped catches. Ironically, Dottin herself was dropped on 9, and she struggled till the 17th set, after which, she played a blinder. Had skipper Beth Mooney or Fi Morris stayed on a bit longer, the score could have touched 135 or 140 and that would have been a different ball game.
Manchester Originals Women bowled well. Mahika Gaur set the tone early while Kathryn Bryce, Sophie Ecclestone and Amelia Kerr kept the choke on. But one loose set from Deandra Dottin - the 16th - which went for 14, swung the momentum and despite a terrific 19th set by Bryce, which saw 2 wickets in 2 balls, the Originals did not have much runs to defend. They fought really hard, but 3 dropped catches were a bit too much to grasp.
Chasing a target of 123 in 100 balls, the London Spirit Women got off to a quiet start. They did not lose wickets but did not get a flurry of runs either. They managed just 27/1 in the Powerplay and it seemed like Manchester were piling the pressure on. At 27/2, that feeling even got stronger. But a couple of lives for Kira Chathli enabled her to get into rhythm. She was joined by Grace Harris and the duo started to transfer the pressure back. They added 29 for the third wicket but after Chathli's departure, Harris made it a point to stay till the end. It was a bizarre chase, as only Chathli and Harris managed to cross 15, in an innings which had only 4 batters in double digits! There was a bit of pandemonium towards the end but London kept their cool to go through.
There was a doubt during the innings break whether Deandra Dottin's drop on 9 could have costed the Spirit. In the run chase, Manchester Originals Women themselves dropped three catches. Kira Chathli was let off twice, on 9 and 25, while Grace Harris was given a life on 43. Chathli's second life and Harris' chance were tough but the first one given by Chathli should have been taken. Given the closeness of the game, one can imagine how the result could have been different.
Harris off strike? No problem. What a finish by Sarah Glenn! 4 balls, 10 runs, playing one of the most important cameos in her career. A nervy win in the end for London Spirit Women, but a win all the same. They get their third victory on the trot and leap to the top spot in the points table. Tough luck for Manchester Originals Women, they fought hard, got the game really close, but in the end, poor fielding let them down.

FOUR! Sarah Glenn has done it! This is an excellent shot under pressure. Deandra Dottin goes full and just outside off. Glenn backs away early but reaches out nicely and squeezes it through point as the ball races to the fence for a boundary. London Spirit Women win by 3 wickets!

Much better! Full and on middle, angles in, Sarah Glenn tucks it to short mid-wicket. A precious dot!

Flighted, full and around off, Sarah Glenn goes inside out and lofts it over extra covers nicely for a brace. 3 needed in 4 now!
Going down to the wire again. Surely no more nerves for London? 5 runs needed, 5 balls remaining, 3 wickets in hand. Remember, the end has not changed, so Harris will still be off strike. Deandra Dottin has been given the ball. 1/26 in 15 balls, with 5 dots so far.

FOUR! A timely boundary for London Spirit Women! Quicker, shortish and on off, Sarah Glenn just opens the face of her bat and steers it away to the third man fence for a boundary.
Hattrick ball time. Sarah Glenn is the one to face it, at number 9, replacing her skipper, Charlie Dean.
OUT! LBW! Two in two for Manchester Originals Women! What are the London Spirit Women doing? This is just strange batting from the visitors. Hard length and on middle, keeps low, Charlie Dean moves across to pull it, but takes her eyes off the ball and gets hit on the pads. Another appeal, and the umpire raises his finger with no hesitation. Bryce on a hat-trick now!

Skipper Charlie Dean walks in next, at number 8, replacing Issy Wong. She starred with the ball early on, can she now double it up with the bat and take her side home?
OUT! LBW! Kathryn Bryce strikes, more importantly, it is a dot ball! She goes fuller and on middle and leg, Issy Wong gets across and has a wild heave across the line. She misses and gets hit on the pads right in front of the stumps. There is a huge appeal for LBW, and up goes the finger. Wong knows it but still takes the review while walking back. UltraEdge confirms no bat involved and Ball Tracking shows it to be plumb. Manchester Originals Women six down, still needing 9 runs in 7 balls.
