And then there were two! Two warriors are left standing in the race for the silverware. One final chapter remains to be written in the 2025 Caribbean Premier League. It will be the Guyana Amazon Warriors locking horns with the Trinbago Knight Riders. The Warriors will be playing their third successive final and are aiming for a second title in 3 years. The Knight Riders, on the other hand, will be eyeing a record-extending fifth trophy to add to their glittering cabinet. The grand finale will be played right here at the Guyana National Stadium on Monday, 22nd September. The first ball will be bowled at 5.30 am IST (12 am GMT), but as always, we will be here well in advance to bring you all the build-up. We look forward to your company for what promises to be a blockbuster finish to the season. See you then. Cheers!
Nicholas Pooran, the skipper of Trinbago Knight Riders, says that the past couple of years have been tough, but they are thrilled to be back on track. He praises his team's spinners, highlighting their crucial contribution. Pooran explains that starting with pace, despite Akeal Hosein's usual role as new ball starter, was a tactical decision. He concludes by saying that he's looking forward to the finals and hopes the best team emerges victorious.
David Wiese, the captain of Saint Lucia Kings, says that it is a tough pill to swallow, as he believes that his team got outplayed by the opposition. Continues that the toss wasn't much issue for them, as they knew that Knight Riders love to chase and for that reason they chose to bowl first but things didn't fall in the right place. Believes that their bowlers failed to execute the plan at the death, which resulted in them having a huge score to chase. Also says that as batters they failed to put the pressure on the opposition in the middle phase, and that was the time they lost the grip of the match. Ends up thanking their fans and says that they will learn from their mistakes and will come back stronger in the next season.
Nicholas Pooran is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says that after losing an early wicket, his strategy was to aggressively score runs during the Powerplay and build partnerships to ease the pressure on the middle order. Pooran highlights the importance of Russell's quick innings in boosting the team's momentum. He concludes by saying that his team has regained their momentum and now needs to maintain its composure to succeed in the final.
Time for the presentation ceremony...
Earlier, David Wiese opted to insert Trinbago into bat on one of the best batting surfaces in Guyana this season. Alex Hales carried his bat through the innings but found it a real struggle for the most part. Nicholas Pooran played the aggressor’s role to lay the platform, but Hales’ struggles persisted. It was due to a cameo from Kieron Pollard and, more importantly, a late flourish from Andre Russell that shifted the momentum. With 48 runs coming off the last 3 overs, TKR powered their way to 194 on the board.
The required run rate kept climbing, and much of Saint Lucia Kings’ hopes rested on the two Tims, Seifert and David, with the latter promoted to number 3. Neither, however, was able to get the innings back on track, and the game kept drifting further away from them. Usman Tariq picked up four wickets but proved expensive, while Sunil Narine was at his miserly best, returning figures of 3 for 18 from his four overs, including a maiden.
Saint Lucia Kings made a promising start in their pursuit of 195, racing to 38 runs in the first four overs thanks to Tim Seifert’s quick-fire beginning. But their troubles began the moment spin was introduced. Although the surface did not offer as much turn as in some of the earlier games, there was enough assistance, and the TKR spin trio were spot-on in targeting the stumps. With spin operating from both ends, the Kings found themselves choked for runs.
Trinbago Knight Riders are through to the final! The most successful side in CPL history, with four titles to their name, will now be playing in their sixth final, where they will face the Guyana Amazon Warriors. For the Saint Lucia Kings, the title defence is over. They never quite looked like the side that they were in the earlier stages of the competition. After ending the league phase with back-to-back losses, they still managed to finish on top of the table, but despite having two opportunities in the playoffs, they failed to make it count.

Tossed up, fuller on middle and leg. Alzarri Joseph prods and looks to tuck it toward the leg side, but gets the leading edge. The ball rolls back to the bowler.
Alzarri Joseph is the new man in.
OUT! IN THE AIR...TAKEN! No mistake from McKenny Clarke this time! Flat and short, on middle. Tymal Mills skips down the track and tries to loft it toward deep mid-wicket, but does not get a proper connection on his bat. The ball loops in front of the long on fielder and McKenny Clarke does well to judge the skier and take it safely.

SIX! BOOM! Pitches it up, on the stump. Tymal Mills slogs it up and over the deep mid-wicket fence for half a dozen.

OUT! CAUGHT! Make it three for Usman Tariq! Bowls from wide of the crease and it is much fuller and flatter, on middle and leg. Roston Chase covers the stump and tries to scoop it over the short fine leg region. However, he doesn't quite get the ball and top edges it towards short fine leg. Sunil Narine moves to his left and takes a safe catch.
