Hollie Armitage joins her group at the podium and the team celebrates with the trophy! With that, we draw curtains on the Women's edition of this year's Hundred. Great season for Northern Superchargers Women, winning 8 matches out of 10. Unfortunately, for Southern Brave Women, though they played one match less and had a clean run till the final, that big break before the final possibly cost them. But they have been the best team of the season without a doubt, although they have to end with a silver plate. One bad day cost them the trophy. Better luck next time! However, while we round off this match, don't forget that the Men's final is about to get underway soon, between the Trent Rockets and Oval Invincibles! Do head over to that match center for all the buildup!
The victorious skipper of Northern Superchargers Women, HOLLY ARMITAGE, says that she is very happy to finish the tournament with a win. Lauds her side for playing some fantastic cricket but also credits Georgia Adams for some fantastic cricket that her own team played throughout the tournament. On her team's positives, Armitage feels that Grace Ballinger played some really good cricket, giving her side good starts with the ball but ends by saying that Northern Superchargers Women have been a good side, with the team playing as a whole throughout.
Northern Superchargers Women's NICOLA CAREY HAS BEEN ADJUDGED AS THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH, for 0/25 with the ball and a quickfire unbeaten 35 (25) with the bat. Calls the feelings unbelievable. Believes that The Superchargers have an amazing group of girls and calls the staff too, as amazing. On coming midway into the tournament, Carey says that she felt like she played for about 4 seasons before getting here, citing the group as amazing and thanking everyone for being welcoming. Is happy to have had a great couple of weeks. On her thinking while walking out to bat, Nicola says that she was not thinking much, and was primarily looking to see off Lauren Bell but admits that the rain made things easy for her side after her bowlers had set it up.
Northern Superchargers Women's PHOEBE LITCHFIELD HAS BEEN ADJUDGED AS THE MOST VALUABLE PLAYER OF THE TOURNAMENT - 292 runs, at a strike rate of 157.83 and an average of 41.71. And not to forget, her catching too! Litchfield says that she is surprised to be receiving this award and adds that if she had been told that her team would be lifting the trophy, she would not have believed that either. Credits the whole team. Feels that the bowlers have won this tournament for the team. Details that they did not allow the batters to go ballistic. Affirms that the bowlers have won this final and the players play as a team. On her thoughts on The Hundred, Phoebe thinks that the experience as an Aussie, coming over here, and also the competition is overwhelming and adds that Superchargers is her favourite team. On playing a final at Lord's, PL calls it 'Pinch me' stuff. Remembers coming here as a 10-year-old, to watch a Women's game and to play here, in front of a packed crowd, is a dream come true, she adds. On her plans of celebrating, Phoebe Litchfield hopes that the players can celebrate into the night as a few have an early morning flight to catch!
... PRESENTATION ...
Earlier in the game, Northern Superchargers Women took a bold call to field in a final, on what looked like a slow pitch. But the bowlers bowled with discipline, not giving much away. They bowled as a team, to restrict Southern Brave Women to 115/6 and even though the deck was sluggish in nature, it still seemed to be short of where The Brave would have liked to finish. Please stay tuned for the presentation.
To defend 115, the Brave needed early wickets. They did get a couple by dismissing the openers, but then, three Aussies stood in their way. First, it was Phoebe Litchfield, who snatched the momentum with a quickfire 26 (13). That pegged the Brave back. Then, a slight shower interrupted the proceedings and Litchfield fell soon after but post that, Annabel Sutherland and Nicola Carey ensured that there were no more hiccups. They staged an unbeaten 60-run stand for the 4th wicket, with Carey taking the attacking role from Litchfield, while Sutherland was happy playing second fiddle. Southern Brave Women did not bowl badly, but they were probably 20 runs short.
Tough luck for Southern Brave Women. 8 matches in the league stage, 8 wins. But come the final, they struggled mentally. They never got any momentum going and huffed and puffed to 115/6, thanks largely to the cameo by Mady Villiers towards the end. Three batters in the top 5 got to 20 but could not carry on. It was their third lowest score batting first this season and they had defended the previous two, but it fell too short in the final.
Magnificent win for Northern Superchargers Women. One talks about nerves in a big final but they did not show much, except for a couple of drops while fielding. But in the run chase, they were clinical for a major part and did not give any chance for the 2023 champions. Remember, in the 2023 edition, The Brave had defended 139 against the Superchargers in the final but come 2025, the Superchargers ensured that there was going to be no repeat. Northern Superchargers Women become the 4th team to win in 5 editions of The Hundred Women!

SIX! MAIDEN TITLE FOR NORTHERN SUPERCHARGERS WOMEN! Annabel Sutherland finishes it off in style. Full, around off, Sutherland swings it straight back, towards long on. The fielder tries to get around, Maia Bouchier, that is, leaps to her left, but the ball tips over! The dugout in Purple is all smiles and the players charge out to the field to hug the two Aussies! NORTHERN SUPERCHARGERS WIN BY 7 WICKETS AND 12 BALLS TO SPARE!

DROPPED! Tough chance though. Full, around off, Nicola Carey looks to go down the ground, for a glory hit, but mistimes it high in the air. Maia Bouchier runs back and puts in a desperate dive but cannot hang on. Two runs taken.
Northern Superchargers Women need 6 from 15 balls. Skipper Georgia Adams to bowl, what could possibly be the last set of the tournament. 0/6 in 5 balls, with 2 dots so far.
