Presentation Time...
London Spirit Women showed grit in abundance, first with the bat, then with the ball. Their innings was a stop-start affair, wickets falling at regular intervals, but Charli Knott's composed 47 and a couple of vital cameos lifted them to a fighting total. For much of the chase, it didn’t seem like enough, with the opposition looking in control for the first 80 balls. But when it came to the crunch, Spirit found another gear. The bowling unit shared the wickets around, the spinners kept the squeeze on, and in a bold move, Grace Harris, who hadn’t bowled a single delivery all match, was handed the final set. Tasked with defending just 7 runs, she held her nerve brilliantly to seal a stunning win.
Welsh Fire Women looked to be cruising early on, with Hayley Matthews taking the attack to the bowlers while Sophia Dunkley played the steady anchor at the other end. Dunkley stitched together solid partnerships first with her opening partner and then with Jess Jonassen, keeping the chase well under control and making it seem like a comfortable win was on the cards. But just when it mattered most, she fell at a pivotal moment, leaving the incoming batters with a tricky pitch to contend with. Jess fought hard to drag them over the line, but she too couldn’t stay till the finish, and in the end, they were left heartbroken, falling just 2 runs short.
How on earth has the London Spirit Women pulled this off? Well, that’s exactly why they’re the defending champions. For most of the chase, they looked second best, backs to the wall and running out of options. But when the pressure peaked, they held their nerve, timed their surge to perfection, and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Welsh Fire Women will be gutted - they had the game firmly in their grasp, only to let it slip away in the cruellest fashion. A heartbreak for them, and a heist for the Spirit.

OUT! TAKEN! Grace Harris has done it! She bowls this short and quick, on middle, angling in. Georgia Elwiss backs away to pull it, but mistimes it badly in the air. Charlie Dean, the skipper, runs back from mid on, extends both her arms to take a brilliant catch under pressure. London Spirit Women has come out of nowhere to take this game by 2 runs.

Flatter, full and around off, Sarah Bryce drives it through covers for one. 3 needed in the last ball now. Who thought we would be here 20 balls ago?
Sarah Bryce walks out to bat now.
OUT! RUN OUT! Massive moment in the game! Grace Harris drags her length back and on middle, Jess Jonassen heaves it towards deep mid-wicket and pushes for the second run. Cordelia Griffith picks up and puts in a throw well in front of the stumps. Georgia Redmayne, the keeper, comes forward, collects it and flicks it back onto the stumps quickly. To the naked eye, it looks like Jess has made her ground, but the replay tells otherwise. She falls for 29 off 24. Welsh Fire Women still need 4 runs in 2 balls now!

PUT DOWN! A fantastic effort, though! Flighted, full and on middle, Georgia Elwiss goes for the reverse but gets a top edge wide of short fine. Tara Norris dives to her left and gets her left hand on it, but fails to hold onto it. She saves three runs for her team though. Just one.

Oh...wow! Grace Harris will bowl the final set. She has not bowled in this game at all. Huge task in her hands.
