Yashasvi Bhupendra Kumar Jaiswal, born on 28 December 2001 in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, is a rising star in Indian cricket. A left-handed opening batter, Jaiswal represents India in all three formats and plays for Mumbai domestically and Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. His century on Test debut in 2023 and historic double tons against England in 2024 have catapulted him into the spotlight.
Early Life
Jaiswal’s journey is a tale of determination. At just 10, he moved to Mumbai to pursue cricket. After being evicted from a dairy shop due to practice commitments, he lived in a tent at Azad Maidan, selling panipuri to support himself. His talent caught the eye of Jwala Singh in 2013, who took him under his wing as a legal guardian and mentor.
Youth Career
Jaiswal made headlines in 2015 with a record-breaking Giles Shield performance: 319* and 13/99 in a single match. He was soon picked for India U-19, winning Player of the Tournament at the 2020 U-19 World Cup. His consistent performances in the Youth Asia Cup and against South Africa and England U-19 teams established his name early.
Domestic Career
