Texas Super Kings beat Seattle Orcas by 51 runs
That is all from this game. We have our top four mathematically with fourth place falling mostly in the laps of MINY. They'll be in action tomorrow against Washington Freedom. Los Angeles Knight Riders will take on San Francisco Unicorns later on the 7th of this month. The action begins at 7 pm GMT (the previous day). You can join us earlier for the build up. Till then, cheers!
Faf du Plessis, the skipper of Texas Super Kings, is the MAN OF THE MATCH. He says he has enjoyed his cricket the most when there is extra responsibility to captain the side and he will never get tired of doing it. Shares Donovan Ferreira was batting well for them this season, so he felt to retire out in the 90s and hope Donovan Ferreira hit a few sixes. Reckons their squad depth is brilliant and they have adapted to conditions really well, they changed the bowling, which suits the surfaces.
...Presentation...
Sikandar Raza, the skipper of Seattle Orcas feels the wicket was okay, they finished well with the ball and had the momentum but credits Texas Super Kings for the way they bowled. Tells the whole batting group hasn't fired collectively throughout the tournament except Shimron Hetmyer. Mentions they trusted their senior guys to catch up the required run rate but appreciate Texas Super Kings' bowlers again. Shares he had an average tournament and hopes they'll come up with a better plan next year.
Seattle Orcas had the momentum with the ball as they pulled things back in the last three overs but still, they were looking at a big score to chase it down. However, their batting prowess fumbled in consecutive matches. Once again, the eyes were on Shimron Hetmyer to do something special and bail his team out but he fell after getting off to a start. Sikandar Raza was their last hope but he too departed and took all the hopes with him. Texas Super Kings were just brilliant in all three departments. Faf du Plessis rotated his bowlers really well and bowled his spinners, Akeal Hosein and Noor Ahmad, very cleverly but the standout of the lot was Adam Milne who finished with a four-fer with three wickets in his final over.
A loss for Seattle Orcas and a win earlier for MI New York means this could be the end of the road for Seattle Orcas in the playoff spot. For Texas Super Kings, they have gone from third to first on the table. This has given them an extra cushion but that is for later. Today, Texas Super Kings pulled off a collective performance. They played decently in the first half of the first innings but Faf du Plessis and Shubham Ranjane joined hands in the latter half and went on a rampage to put a total which was way, way above-par on this pitch.
